Mt. St. Helens - June 6, 2018 - Worm Flows
The 2018 season started with the classic Worm Flows winter route up Mt. St. Helens in near perfect conditions. All 11 on the team successfully summitted and spent time hanging out on the crater rim watching the steaming lava dome. A nice glissade brought us down below the seismic station before hiking the rest out on foot. Click here for more photos and click here for the trip report.
Mt. Shasta - June 22-23, 2018 - Clear Creek Route
The Pentaquest team attempted the Clear Creek Route up Mt. Shasta's southeast side. Despite a favorable weather forecast when we hit the trail, conditions changed in the afternoon and we decided not to make a push for the summit above high camp. We still had a great time and experienced the sunset and sunrise from Clear Creek Meadows. Click here for more photos and click here for the trip report.
Goat Rocks Wilderness - July 20-21, 2018 - Old Snowy Mountain via Snowgrass Flats
We hiked into the Goat Rocks Wilderness in the Washington Cascades for one night and camped near Old Snowy Mountain's summit. After ditching our gear, we scrambled to the mountaintop and then set up camp for an epic evening at 7,500. From our alpine bivy we could see Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Rainier as we watched the sun set over Cascadia. There's nothing quite like the Goat Rocks. Mount Shuksan - August 9-10, 2018 - Sulphide Glacier
Our two-day trip through Timberline Mountain Guides took us up a Cascadian classic! We hiked up Shannon Ridge and camped for a night near the Sulphide Glacier. Departing after sunrise, we then traversed the glacier, climbed up the rock pyramid to the summit, and returned home the same day.
